1st Pattern "XM3" Bipod Case
Reproduction of the early "short pocket" 601/602 bipod case, circa 1962-1964.
100% Berry Compliant, using the correct mil-spec canvas, wartime dated edge binding, and correct size nylon threat.
*Note: There is a long standing debate if this is the 2nd pattern or the 1st. After years compiling specifications and understanding the complexities and cost cutting Government manufacturers do in the lifetime of a item, and the exact date they switched from short 4 piece cleaning rods to long 3 piece cleaning rods...we're in the 1st Pattern camp, as it makes more sense. BUT we leave that decision for you to choose. All that aside, we DO know for a fact from photographic evidence that these "short pockets" were issued with the Model 602 and were in-country in 1963. They are completely acceptable with your early advisory impression.
